Fit for task assessments

What we can provide?

Staywell provide a simple, cost effective solution to maintaining a healthy and safe workforce. All medicals will be carried out onsite by a qualified occupational health clinician. Each medical includes a questionnaire specific to the task, to assess medical history and a medical examination measuring; Blood pressure, vision, mobility, hearing.

Medicals we offer include:

Safety Critical Medicals

These are particularly relevant to those carrying out safety-critical tasks. It is important that safety-critical workers are not suffering from medical conditions or undergoing any medical treatment which is likely to cause sudden loss of consciousness or incapacity, impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or coordination or significant limitation of mobility. We have a dedicated page for safety critical medicals, please visit this page to learn more.

Driver Medicals

These are the best medicals for those individuals driving for their work and carrying out safety-critical tasks which include driving. It is important that drivers are not suffering from medical conditions or undergoing any medical treatment which is likely to cause sudden loss of consciousness or incapacity, impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or coordination, or significant limitation of mobility.

The driver medical is designed to cover the majority of workplace driving, including but not limited to fork lift trucks, heavy machinery, materials handling equipment (MHE) and regular vehicles.

At Staywell we recommend that employees are screened before employment every three years if under 54, every 2 years if 54-59 and every year after this.

It also may be necessary to re-assess an employee if circumstances change, if they have repeated or long term sickness absence or have recently been put on medication.

Night Worker Medicals

A night worker is someone who regularly works at least 3 hours between 11pm and 6am or a night period as agreed by employer and worker.

Employers must offer night workers a regular assessment which must be written by a qualified health professional, this can be a questionnaire. If this questionnaire flags up any issues or you are unsure if the worker is fit for night work then a follow up examination is required by a health professional.

Staywell Occupational Health offers an online night worker assessment which will be reviewed by an occupational health nurse and the outcome with be graded to determine their fitness for night work. Should the employee require a follow up call this can then be arranged.
